Relaxation of COVID special rules
As the rules and laws imposed to control the spread of the COVID19 Pandemic have been relaxed we will return to a usual season. This may need to be revised if Government and Golf England's guidelines change during the season ahead.
Competitions
All official WWGS competitions will run during the season ahead including the Main Championship, Aberdeen Shield, Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin competitions. We will also run a Two's Pot and Birdie Bowl competitions this season.
Playing draw
We will return to performing a playing order and group draw in the clubhouse before each match. All players must be in the clubhouse at least 30mins before the first scheduled tee time, if not you will be placed in the last group out unless you have informed us you will be late.
WhatsApp Scorecards
As the use of the WhatsApp system worked well the last couple of years I propose we continue to use this facility. You can still return the cards at the end of the round if you wish as long as I get either the cards and/or a picture. Once all cards are in and checked a winner will be announced and handicaps adjusted in the usual manner.
Basic rules and details
As you all know golf is a unique sport where each individual player is responsible for understanding and playing within the rules. Unless you are playing in a major competition there is no referee or official watching over you so it's down to each individual players integrity.
The basic Rules of Golf have been produced and administered by the R&A, who alongside the USGA govern the sport worldwide. We as a private Golf Society are allowed to produce our own "Society" rules but as a whole we are all expected to abide by the R&A rulebook wherever possible.
