A Tribute by Dave Fletcher read at
Tim’s Funeral Service
2nd January 2014
Such a lovely bloke Who battled many a condition. Would've been easier having a stroke To get through them his only mission.
He bounced right back After major setbacks. Regained his strength Never lost his length (Off the tee of course).
Had the strength of a horse With a cack-handed grip. He'd hit it a mile Then around the green Pretty good with a chip.
Trophy retaining And always entertaining. The nineteenth he loved too Another love -his food. 'I was born hungry' I once heard him say He wasn't wrong I remember that day.
Always consistent In all and everything. A grafter, a father A friend and true gent.
'Did what it said on the tin'. But this time he couldn't win.
His final battle, a battle too far. The cancer beat him.
We all lost our star.
Lets all raise a glass Lets all have a jar.
Lets celebrate the life Of our great man Tim.
And the happiness he'd bring.
Dave "Fletch" Fletcher.
